My paintings are inspired by the beauty of nature and are often quite symbolic in their creation. This is a fun painting of blue gum tree trunks. While a play on the literal meaning, they have been inspired by the Tasmanian blue gum, the Eucalyptus globulus. They are widely used in herbalism and aromatherapy to help clear the airways and restore physical and emotional health. I love that they are thought to symbolise healing, resilience and purification.
