SIZE: Framed - 52cm (W) x 52cm (H)
This is a textured oil painting on a custom-made wood panel. It sits in a Tasmanian Oak floating frame. Felt pads have been attached to the back bottom corners to protect your wall and D-rings and wire has been attached making it ready to hang. This painting comes with its unique story and a certificate of authenticity.
I love to paint on wood panel. The natural grains help to inspire and direct the painting. This painting incorporates some of the natural woodgrain in the tree trunks which have been coated in gloss varnish.
This was inspired by the evening light settling down for the evening over the mountains, hills and sunflowers. There is so much you could reflect on with sunflowers, but for me it’s their seeds … symbolic of new beginnings. It takes nourishment, the right timing and environmental conditions to grow. Some don’t take hold. That’s no big deal, that’s why there are many - don’t give up. Don’t ever give up in life. Painting the seeds was a reminder of having patience and hope to accept the “new me” after sustaining a traumatic brain injury. A good reminder of the importance of love, patience, and nurturing we all need in life.
