This is a textured oil painting on a custom-made wood panel. It is mounted on a natural pine backing frame and sits in a gorgeous Tasmanian oak floating frame. This is loosely based on memories and photos from Millstream Chichester National Park and inspired by the rich illuminating colours of the Australian Outback and its beautiful freshwater pools. The colours have been exaggerated for rich contrasts with a twist of an abstract feel. This has been painted using a palette knife with many layers of paint.
My paintings are inspired by the beauty of nature and are often quite symbolic in their creation. In this painting, the rockface which endures the elements while being bathed in golden light, highlights inner strength and endurance and signifies a fresh start and hope.
