I have painted a number of scenes which were inspired by my outback travels some years back. The rich contrasting colours of the outback rally grabbed my attention. I just love that rich red earth. I am always fascinated by the beauty of trees and for some reason I am particularly drawn to dead trees. I love their raw naked sculptural beauty. Even though dead, they look so strong and still provide for so much life. They are integral to their local ecosystem above and below the ground and surrounded by so much life. This painting hopes to capture that giving life and peacefulness the nature provides so readily.
