SIZE: Diptych with two panels each measuring 61cm (W) x 81cm (H) x 2.5cm (D). Total = 122cm (W) x 81cm (H) x 2.5cm (D)
This is an oil painting on two custom-made wood panels, each mounted on a raw pine backing frame. The sides have been painted black. The natural wood grain shows through in the path, which has been coated with clear gloss. Felt pads have been placed on the back corners to protect your wall. D-rings and wire have been attached, making it ready to hang on your wall. This painting comes with its unique story and a certificate of authenticity.
I love to paint on wood. I study its contours and see what is already taking shape before my eyes. Then I paint the dominant part of what I see in clear gloss varnish – in this case it is the “Dog-leg Mountain” path meandering through the landscape. Then I let my eyes wonder to see the bigger picture and fill this in with my oils.
My love of Billy Buttons (Craspedia) has also been incorporated into this landscape. A beautiful native Australian plant with a gorgeous buttery yellow glow, which I have tried to capture in this painting.
COMMISSION REQUESTS: If you would l e something similar, but a different size or colours or framing options, I would be happy to discuss with you.
