“Van Gough in the Outback (ii)” is a textured oil painting on a custom-made canvas panel. It is mounted on a pine backing frame. Felt pads have been placed on the back corners to protect your wall, and D-rings and wire attached, making it ready to hang.
My paintings often contain symbolism and incorporate a “twist” of some sort. This painting has a real mixture of loves, symbolism and inspiration. I love sunflowers – the way they make me feel happy when I look at them. I also love the Australian outback - the rich contrasting colours. Here I have combined the two, you don’t really expect to see much growing in the way of flowers in that dry red earth. But here, with the influence of Van Gough’s style, here they are!
