This is a textured oil painting on a custom-made wood panel. It is mounted on a natural pine backing frame and sits in a gorgeous Tasmanian Oak Floating Frame. Felt pads have been placed on the back corners to protect your wall. D-rings and wire have been attached, making it ready to hang on your wall. This painting comes with its unique story and a certificate of authenticity.
This is loosely based on memories and photos from Millstream Chichester National Park and iinspired by the rich colours of the Australian Outback and the beautiful fresh water pools. The colours have been exaggerated for rich contrasts with a twist of an abstract feel. This has been painted using a palette knife with many layers of paint. Although a decade ago since being there, reading through our diaries and going through our photos of that time, I felt that I was back there … or wishing I was anyway.
This painting tries to capture the utter peace, stillness and expanse experienced sitting in the outback in the middle of nature.
