I have been going through past holiday photos lately, and Rottnest Island in Western Australia was a stand out. I would dearly love to go back there soon. It is one of those places that as soon as you step on the sand you feel like you are in another world and totally relaxed. You can walk barefoot endlessly on beautiful white sand, swim and snorkel in the inviting water, and walk around the gorgeous surrounds. The Aboriginal name for Rottnest Island is Wadjemup in the Noongar language. It means ‘place across the water where the spirits are’ on the traditional lands of the Yawuru people.
