SEPTEMBER DRIVE

Painting Size: 122cm (W) x 81cm (H) x 2.5cm (D)

Framed Size : 125cm (W) x 84cm (H) x 4cm (D)

“September Drive” is a textured oil painting on a custom-made wood panel. It is mounted on a pine backing frame, and sits in a Victorian ash floating frame.   Felt pads have been placed on the back corners to protect your wall, and D-rings and wire attached, making it ready to hang.

“September Drive” incorporates the natural grain of the wood panel as part of the meandering road through the countryside. This has been coated in clear gloss varnish so you can see the wood grain.
My paintings are inspired by the beauty of nature. In particular the calmness and freedom it often brings to my soul. I have a special love of open spaces and Billy Buttons (Craspedia). They are also known as “drumsticks” and are in the daisy family. Billy Buttons are a beautiful native Australian plant with a gorgeous buttery yellow glow which I have tried to capture in this painting.
My paintings can be quite symbolic and in this it’s the colour green symbolising growth and renewal; the colour yellow which is often associated with fun, joy and energy; and the path offering new hope and direction. I hope this painting brings you a sense of these feelings too!
